The 2023 Axentis Michael Memorial Ball raised vital funds for many brilliant charities within the local area. During the fundraising event, we were informed by one of our guests about the amazing work of Bristol-based cancer health and wellbeing charity, Penny Brohn UK.
Penny Brohn UK provides free, nationwide support to cancer patients at all stages of their diagnosis, arming them with the tools and support they need to live better with cancer and feel more in control of their lives. From relaxation sessions and yoga classes, to personal consultations, wellbeing days and retreats, the charity offers a range of online and in-person services each week.
Upon hearing about the amazing work being carried out by Penny Brohn UK and the difference the team there are making to people's lives, The Axentis Michael Charitable Trust reached out to ask if there was an opportunity to support the charity.
Paul Tasman, Philanthropy Manager at Penny Brohn UK highlighted their desperate need for new laptops for the client support team, who support cancer patients online with personal planning sessions.
Soon after, three brand new Dell laptops were delivered to the charity, fully funded by the Trust.
Emily, a client support worker at Penny Brohn UK commented:
I am deeply grateful for your generous donation; the new laptop is absolutely fantastic and has significantly improved my ability to work from anywhere. This enhancement allows me to efficiently organise and deliver physical activity services that are crucial in helping patients feel stronger and more resilient throughout their treatment.
My old laptop was slow and this upgrade has made my job so much easier and more effective. The Trust's support means the world to me and the patients we serve - thank you once again for your kindness and generosity.
